How is your business planning for 2021 going?

Well we’re now two weeks into 2021 and so far so good! We’re in lockdown and will continue to be until at least mid February but that doesn’t mean the business world stops spinning or that we should be burying our heads in the sand.

I think in the first lockdown many people did just that – they didn’t know what else to do. They didn’t know to move forward with themselves and staff working from home, along with the stress of navigating a completely unknown entity of lockdown and worrying about friends and family.

But with this being the third lockdown for many of us, it’s nowhere near as daunting or as scary.

So what can you focus on for driving your business forward?

If the work load is a little lighter in your industry (like event management for example!) how about reconnecting with contacts? Getting back in touch with previous clients? Get yourself along to some networking events. Even if you don’t feel like you have much you can promote right now, that won’t last. And people will admire your resilience and the ability to keep going in the face of adversity

For myself, I kept myself visible in 2020 by running my networking meetings and posting a lot on social media…avid followers will be able to spot me having good days and bad days depending on how often I post!

As we enter 2021 and the world of event management is still very quiet, I am incredibly optimistic about what this year holds. I firmly believe that events will come back and when they do we’re going to be very busy! So for me it’s been very important to stay in people’s minds, and my focus for the next 3 months is to get back in touch with as many of my connections as possible.

I’ve made this incredibly easy by adding calendly to my calendar so I just send the link out and my connection picks a time that suits them – so much easier than emails back and forth. Plus it even includes the zoom link so I don’t need to do anything to organise it!

I can’t wait to be back to where I was this time last year – 2020 was going to be MY year – but I’ve waited patiently and am certain it will pay off!

I’d love to hear about how you’ve carried on, pivoted or taken a step back over the last 9 month.

Please do get in touch…
