WHAT IS NETWORKING?

  • Networking is creating a community of like-minded people to share business information
  • Networking is about “How can I help?” not “What can I get?”
  • Effective networking is an excellent way of increasing awareness of you & your business
  • It provides a good support network

TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE NETWORKING

  • Plan your ‘small talk’ to give you confidence
  • Listen to others before talking about yourself
  • Offer helpful solutions, don’t try to SELL your service/product
  • Prepare your pitch so you speak with knowledge and clarity
  • Mix things up – don’t say the same thing at every meeting
  • Connect with people on LinkedIn
  • Make 3 1-1 appointments with people you’ve met
  • Don’t send sales pitch emails after the event – it’s a huge turn off!
  • Base everything on KNOW, LIKE, TRUST and you’ll be a popular connection!
